Spend the summer at Gillispie in La Jolla!
Gillispie School opens its unique one and two week-long summer camps in La Jolla to students from all elementary schools, aiming to engage kids in purposeful learning and warm-weather fun all summer long.
Our 2017 elementary program promises exciting offerings such as chemistry, engineering, and robotics, as well as perennial favorites: LEGO® construction, theater, reading, sports, and art classes.
Registration for all students is now open. Registration is done online this year. Classes are filled on a first-come-first-served basis and parents may only sign up their own child/children.

The campus opens at 8:30 a.m. and closes at 4:00 p.m. Extended care is provided at no additional charge for elementary students from 8:30-9 a.m. and 3:30-4 p.m. Morning classes run from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., and afternoon classes run from 12:30 – 3:30 p.m.
Fees vary and are indicated below the class name on the program flyer. For registrations received on or before Friday, April 28, 2017, a 10% discount will apply. Classes will run only if there is adequate enrollment. If the minimum class size is not met, a full refund will be given.
A refund of 100% of the tuition for any class may be obtained for requests made prior to May 15, 2017, and a refund of 75% of the tuition for any class may be obtained for requests made prior to June 2, 2017. There are no refunds after June 1, 2017.
Early Childhood Day Camp
In addition to our elementary program, we offer an engaging and active Early Childhood Camp made up of 8 one-week sessions.
Early Childhood Camp at Gillispie is made up of 8 one-week sessions running from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. designed to keep your child engaged and active all summer.
Our early childhood teachers are committed to providing a nurturing environment that promotes the social, intellectual, and physical development of the young child. The staff includes professional educators who have a wealth of teaching experience. Children will enjoy an array of activities during camp, including indoor and outdoor games, water play, crafts, and dramatic play. Students who stay for a full day will have cozy time and open exploration in the afternoons. Please note that space is limited for full-day enrollment.
Afternoon Super Swimmers Offered All 8 Weeks!
Kindergarten through Grade 6
A fee-based afternoon session offers swimming at the Coggan Aquatic Center. The center’s swim instructors teach group lessons and campers will be placed in the appropriate swim-‐level group and learn skills that will improve their swimming ability. After the lessons, the campers will have free swim under the supervision of a certified lifeguard and the Gillispie teachers. The Center is conveniently located at La Jolla High School.
