Reflecting on the Year
June 2, 2011
Greetings Gillispie Families,
As this yearly quickly draws to a close, teachers and administration are reflecting on their work and already planning for next year. To support these efforts, the teachers and I ask that you complete the End-of-Year Classroom Teacher Feedback Form 2010-2011
Your feedback will help teachers set curricular and classroom goals for the year ahead; such goal setting is an important part of the overall teacher evaluation process. Teachers encourage you to complete the form knowing that feedback, both positive and constructive, makes any program stronger. You’ll note that it is not anonymous; this is because Gillispie is striving for a culture of direct communication for the betterment of its programs. The three questions are simple:
- As a parent, what have you enjoyed about the classroom this year?
- What has your child enjoyed?
- What is an area that could be changed?
As you reflect on the year, you might think about specific projects, the content covered in a subject (e.g., social studies or math), homework, and grading policies. More broadly, consider what seemed to create enthusiasm in your young learner.
Please mail or drop off the form (to the teacher’s attention) by Friday, June 24. Many thanks in advance for taking the time!
