Kindergarten looks at the lovely shapes and patterns on leaves and then prints them on abstract watercolor backgrounds.
First Grade makes ceramic owls and uses texture to create feathers. We will be glazing these ceramic masterpieces shortly!
Second Grade creates farm landscapes using patterns to describe fields of crops.
Third Grade discovers the beauty in the instrument they are learning to play in music class by drawing their violins and painting the sounds of music with color.
Fourth Grade creates wildly sculpted and painted “alebrijes” and uses papier mache to realize imaginary creatures.
Fifth Grade observes Gillispie friends, the seagulls, and uses pastels to describe their beauty.
Sixth Grade looks and learns about Hispanic artists, constructing “nichos” to commemorate their work for Dia de los Muertos.
