On Monday, January 27, Kindergarten classes at The Gillispie School welcomed local doctor, photographer, and musician Dr. Cliff Oliver for their 5th Annual Australia Day, a day to celebrate the culture of the student’s continent of study.
At the event, Dr. Oliver volunteered his time to provide the School’s kindergarten class with a wonderful aboriginal dreamtime story told through the varying sounds of the didgeridoo, followed by a kid-friendly didgeridoo tutorial.  This was his third consecutive year of volunteering at the school’s annual Australia Day, sharing his passion for this unique, indigenous instrument.

Dr. Oliver has been playing, teaching and using the didgeridoo for more than 15 years in various music projects, for live music yoga, and sound healing as part of an Integrative Health Care program at the Center for Balance in the De Anza View Medical Center.
