This past week, Grade 5 students participated in Junior Achievement BizTown. This program combines in-class learning with a day-long visit to a simulated town. Our students had the opportunity to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, and vote for mayor. Students connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world.
Prior to attending BizTown, Grade 5 students learned how an economy works, how to apply and interview for a job, operate a successful business, be part of a community, and manage their finances.
In addition, parents shared their journey into their careers and businesses, offering our students insights into real-world math applications that extend beyond textbooks.
