Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
Third grade students slid into a snow-themed winter wonderland on their first day back from winter break. They were given a mysterious, powdery substance to examine and identify. After adding water, the children were amazed to discover that it had snowed in third grade! Once the excitement melted, the children were asked to use their math skills to create and draw snowmen. The children had to meet specific weight and cost requirements as they chose the hats, scarves, buttons, and noses to use for their snowmen. Continuing our cold and snowy cross-curricular theme, the students began reading Nancy Drew's chilling mystery, Case of the Missing Snowman. The joy on the children's faces let us know the New Year was off to a great start. Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Hurley Grade 3 Teachers
