Carina prepares to deliver her book report on The Landry News during the annual Grade 3 Book Report Celebration. Depending on the topic being covered, teachers at Gillispie allow for differentiated learning by varying the products/outputs that students create. Here are just a few of the ways students could show mastery of the books they had read: · Construct a diorama. · Produce a puppet show. · Create a comic strip telling the story. · Create a newspaper based on the story. · Produce a video reenacting a scene from the story. · Create a giant bookmark to present, and give everyone smaller bookmarks to keep. · Create a hat to illustrate the book. · Create a poster about the story. Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Hurley then used a purposeful rubric (previously shared with the students) to review their work.
