This week, third-grade students learned to cook buñuelos with Chef Marcella! She explained the difference between buñuelos and churros and asked the students to identify the Spanish words for ingredients like sugar and cinnamon.
This activity marks the culmination of the third-grade curriculum, where students explore the 21 Spanish-speaking countries worldwide.
Parents are invited to teach students how to prepare traditional dishes, fostering interactive experiences that deepen students’ appreciation of the cultural aspects embedded within the Spanish language. Through these experiences, students cultivate empathy, curiosity, and respect for cultural diversity.
Next week, it’s tortillas!
