Gillispie Makes an Impact Beyond its Campus!

Every grade level each year at Gillispie participates in a community service project with a chosen charitable organization. These projects are “service-learning” experiences that serve as real-life applications of the Gillispie Values that help to create forward-thinking individuals of character.

In addition to these grade-level projects, The Gillispie School parents, faculty, staff, and students participate in a number of community service initiatives throughout the year. Some of the organizations we have worked with and projects we participated in include:

Girl Scouts’ Kids’ Newsday for Rady Children’s Hospital
Girl Scouts’ Operation Thin Mint for U.S. troops
All-school collection of art supplies for The Monarch School
All-school collection of Halloween candy for U.S. troops
Donations from purchase of Gillispie’s Art Day pins given to Vista Hill’s children’s art programs
Coastal Cleanup Day at Fiesta Island on Mission Bay
