Yesterday during our Grades K-2 and 3-6 assemblies, we launched “Art in Action,” our first school-wide community service project of the 2013-2014 school year.
This year we are excited to partner with The Monarch School, a K-12 school that serves students in San Diego County who are impacted by homelessness. The Monarch School helps inspire its students’ creativity through its art program.
The Gillispie School community understands the value of artistic expression, and we are honored to help The Monarch School through our “Art in Action” supply drive.
Starting this week until Wednesday, October 30, each grade level will be asked to collect specific art supply items. Your child will receive a flyer this week detailing their assigned items (click here to view or print the flyer). Each classroom will have a collection box where you can make your donation.
Early childhood and pre-kindergarten families are invited to participate in our supply drive as well. If you’d like to participate, feel free to select any item from the grade level lists and turn them in to Mrs. Abrams and Mrs. Broughton in Room 5.
We appreciate your support of this worthy cause!
If you have any questions about the “Art in Action” supply drive, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
